Meet Our Team: Andreia R. Fernandes

In this #OurTeam “episode” we talked with Andreia Fernandes, our Junior Manufacturing Assistant because it is her first Stemversary at the company. Congratulation Andreia!
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of Minho, Andreia is developing skills in GMP manufacturing of biologics and is also giving support on the technical resources at Stemmatters.
In her first Stemversary, we asked Andreia to tell us a bit more about her experience during this past year on our company.
Describe this past year at Stemmatters in one small sentence.
This past year was a year of learning and challenges. During this time, it was sometimes necessary to exceed myself in order to achieve the proposed goals.
What led you to join Stemmatters?
I applied to Stemmatters because I believed, and I still believe that it is a company of excellence, in which I have great pleasure in starting my career.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who is just starting a career in a life sciences SME?
It is very valuable to be able to initiate a career in life sciences in a company with a small number of workers because it provides a spirit of mutual help that can't be found otherwise. Therefore, my advice is to enjoy the opportunity and to make it the cornerstone of your future.
